Dell launches laptops for SMEs
DELL Philippines yesterday introduced the latest generation of its Vostro line of laptops — Vostro 14 5000 and Vostro 14 3000. Dell said the laptops, which are packed with productivity and security features, are designed to meet the needs of small business owners.
“Small business owners want affordable solutions that help their employees be more productive,” said Christopher Papa, country manager, Dell Philippines.
The Vostro 5000 Series consists of ultra-thin (18.5 mm) and lightweight (1.59 kg) 14-inch laptops that feature Intel 7th Generation Core i7 processors, up to 1 terabyte hard disk drive (HDD), 256 gigabyte solid strate drive (SSD) or an optional dual HDD + SSD for easily adding more storage. They also offer up to 16 GB memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB.
This Vostro 14 5000 features a premium look and feel with a smooth metal cover that comes in Era Gray and Jingle Gold colors.
The laptops provide an optional fingerprint reader with Windows Hello that lets customers log in with just a touch, and they deliver commercial- grade security by providing hardware protection and storage for encryption keys with hardware TPM 2.0 ( based on regional availability).
The Vostro 14 3000 series, on the other hand, has its features scaled down ( compared to Vostro 14 5000) to cater to budget- conscious business owners. The laptops feature Intel 7th Generation Core i5 processors, up to 1 TB HDD or 128 GB SSD and up to 8 GB memory. Unlike the Vostro 14 5000, security feature and the built-in fingerprint reader with Windows Hello are optional in Vostro 14 3000 models.
Dell says it the entire Vostro line comes with Dell’s complete support service that combines 24x7 priority access with expert support, accidental damage repair, and proactive, predictive monitoring for automatic issue prevention and resolution — making it small businesses don’t have their own IT department.
The laptops will be available by the end of September with starting prices of P45,000 for the Vostro 14 5000 and P35,000 for the Vostro 14 3000 laptops.
