Smart Wi-Fi now available in various Philippine airports

SMART HAS already deployed Wi-Fi in the airports of Davao, Misamis Oriental, Zamboanga, Clark, Roxas, Dumaguete, Laoag, and Bacolod aside from Iloilo, and is set to roll out in other airports including that of Kalibo, Caticlan, General Santos, Palawan, and Metro Manila over the next few weeks. The nationwide rollout of Smart Wi-Fi is backed by the PLDT Group’s robust and resilient fixed and wireless networks with an initial capital outlay of close to P1 billion. With a back haul of up to 1 gigabit per second, Smart Wi-Fi can accommodate at least 3,000 concurrent users with fast connectivity, according to Finina Gorres, vice-president and head of Enterprises, Customer Operation Management of PLDT and Smart during the recent launch of Smart Wi-Fi at the Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan, Iloilo.
