DAVAO: DAVAO CITY
Water sources at risk with subdivision projects THE RAPID increase in the number of subdivision developments is starting to worry the Davao City Water District (DCWD). “We have a problem in our aquifier in Cabantian which is experiencing reduced water levels,”
DCWD Spokesperson Bernard D. Delima said in an interview at the sidelines of the 4th Watershed Stakeholders Summit this week. “Years ago we had no problem in the area because there were many trees but now that there are many subdivisions there are no more trees to replenish the aquifer so we have to rely on rainfall because everything is already cemented,” he said.
