HK-based delivery app enters PHL market
HONG KONG-BASED logistics firm Lalamove is making its way to the Philippine market, offering door-to-door deliveries through a Web and mobile app.
In a statement, the popular delivery app said the Philippine market is “definitely ready” for a disruptive service like Lalamove as there is a need for a better, faster and more convenient service compared to the current level of service that Filipinos are used to.
“There hasn’t been a clear leader in the tech delivery and logistics space in Metro Manila and the Lalamove team hopes to be in that spot very soon,” said the company, which operates in over 28 cities across Asia.
The app provides an instant and scheduled delivery service available in mobile and Web that allows users to book either a motorcycle or a utility vehicle for all their delivery needs throughout Metro Manila.
Lalamove said it is suitable for business owners who have several deliveries during the day, as the app is tailor fit according to their needs. Clients can book either within an hour or scheduled up to four weeks from current date. Users can also have “multiple drop offs” feature which lets users add up to 20 drop-off points all in one route.
The company enters the Philippine market where demand for delivery services is growing due to the booming e-commerce industry.
It offers a base rate of P80 for motorcycle deliveries and P250 for utility vehicle (UV) deliveries. Additional P10 is added for per kilometer for motorcycle deliveries and P25 for UV deliveries.
“Other features include: adding an insulated box for motorcycle orders, perfect for food and meal deliveries; requesting the driver and vehicle to do a round trip; asking the driver to do cash handling, perfect for business owners who do cash on delivery for their customers; and requesting for an assistant with the driver for additional help needed, perfect for moving heavy load,” it said.
The app is available for download on iOS and Android devices and is also available for Web or desktop. —
