THE SHEIKH Karimul Makhdum Mosque, the oldest in the Philippines, can be found in Tawi-Tawi, which celebrates Nov. 7 as the beginning of Islam in the country when Malaysian Sheikh Karimul Makhdum arrived in 1380.
