Philippines International Furniture Show set on March 9-11
THE Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP) together with the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation (CFIF) and Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation (PFIF) join efforts once again for the launch of the 6th Philippines International Furniture Show 2017. The longest-running furniture show in the Philippines is set to happen on March 9 to 11 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
PIFS 2017 is going to be part of a mega showcase that will see the first ever consolidation of the design and construction industries under one roof. PIFS will be joined by Interior & Design Manila (a curated trade show by the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers), Philippine Finishing and Furnishings Expo (an interior and fit-out construction trade event by no less than the creators of PHILCONSTRUCT), and Philippine Ventilating and Air-conditioning Expo (a showcase that will focus on air cooling technologies for home, office, and commercial establishments).
“In 2016, PIFS pushed the standard even higher, attracting thousands of buyers internationally and locally, confirming PIFS as one of the key events in the cycle of furniture and craft fairs in the entire South East Asia,” said Eduardo Zuluaga, Overall Event chairman for PIFS. Last year, PIFS recorded over 7,000 trade visitors, with more than 500 foreign trade buyers representing 73 countries. The top foreign countries represented at last year’s show were, by rank: United States of America, Japan, China, Australia, Singapore, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, Italy, and United Kingdom, which indicates that PIFS is globally recognized for its top quality furniture and furnishings.
“We are excited to also bring in international designers who will showcase locally made furniture from various exhibitors,” said Christina Gaston, CFIF Event chair for PIFS. “We have Nelson Sepulveda, designer for Ay Illuminate, a Netherlands-based producer of lighting products, will be doing a special design setting inside the exhibition halls; Shigeki Fukuda, a Japanese designer and owner of Latitude Ltd., will be doing lobby setting highlighting up and coming designers and their furniture pieces.”
