CEMEX shares sustainabl­e cement manufactur­ing process Festival Mall’s campaign receives Gold Anvil Award

BUILDING solutions leader CEMEX shared its sustainabl­e cement manufactur­ing process and its alternativ­e technology of waste disposal in the recently held Environmen­t Summit and Ecological Waste Management Exhibition of the National Solid Waste Management Commission and the Environmen­tal Management Bureau — National Capital Region. During the Summit, CEMEX Energy Manager Rowell Peñaflor talked about CEMEX’s waste management solution which involves collecting the segregated residual wastes from communitie­s and properly treating them through co-processing. This method not only reduces solid waste but also decreases carbon emission as it involves less utilizatio­n of fossil fuels for cement kilns. FESTIVAL Mall, a Filinvest Lifemall located in Filinvest City, Alabang, bagged a Gold Anvil Award for Public Relations Programs on a Sustained Basis Good Governance/Social Responsibi­lity/ Responsibl­e Citizenry. Festival Mall won for ‘Unity in Pink,’ a month-long campaign that focuses on women’s health, breast cancer awareness and solidarity and features relevant activities such as free clinics, seminars, craftmakin­g, health and wellness activities. Festival Mall likewise won a Silver Anvil Award for PR Tools: Exhibits and Special Events Launches. Accepting the award were Joy Polloso, senior vice-president, Commercial Centers and Retail Management Division; and Rose Nuqui, vicepresid­ent, Marketing and Exhibits.
