Porsches preen with new paint jobs, get to pack more performance items
AN expanded range of extras that include new color schemes for cabins and bodywork, as well as a kit boosting power, are what Porsches have started offering for the 2017 model year.
Porsche said it has released new interior and exterior colors for all its models. Among these is Crayon, which is now available for all 911 and 718 Boxster and Cayman. Reserved for the 911 is four- coat paint called Saffron Yellow Metallic that has intermediate sanding, which Porsche said makes the paintwork look “deep.”
The optional sports exhaust system for the 911 and 718 pair is now also available with tailpipes in high-gloss black, while cabin color choices now include Sport-Tex equipment in black or graphite blue with Crayon, Porsche said.
It added the palette for the Cayenne now also count in the new Purpurite Metallic and Palladium Metallic, while the leather trim for the interior of the Macan can now come in black with Luxor Beige. For the Panamera, the new body colors are Burgundy Red Metallic and Ristretto Brown Metallic, with cabin colors can be specified to be the same as those for the Macan. Additional interior colors available are Cohiba Brown and Truffle Brown.
Besides aesthetic enhancements, the car maker said it is offering performance upgrades through the Porsche Exclusive pack; the new 911 Carrera S, 911 Carrera 4S and 911 Targa 4S models can get an extra 30hp with this kit. The package includes larger turbochargers and the Sport Chrono collection that count in dynamic engine mounts, modified brake cooling and sports exhaust.
