Montblanc unveils redesigned store
ALONG WITH a redesigned store in its Rustan’s Makati branch, Montblanc pushes its pens through an initiative that aims to give the gift of writing to the world, well beyond the very attractive pens it makes.
The new store design is a worldwide initiative by the luxury goods brand by designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, who himself has designed various products for companies such as Baccarat.
The new store design injects some warmth into the store despite its use of black and white, by mixing in elements in wood.
The new store concept also allows for a more immersive experience, with the brand’s pens and accessories displayed in larger shelves.
Meanwhile, a collection launched in Rustan’s Makati was the brand’s Writing Is A Gift Collection.
The brand’s Meisterstück, one of its most ubiquitous pens, is redesigned for the collection with the Rosetta stone in mind.
The six-piece collection has incorporated into each pen’s design a character each from six alphabets: Chinese, Hindi, Roman, Arabic, Korean, and Japanese.
This is capped with a single sapphire, representing the brand’s association with UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund).
Other lines following the same design include models from Fountain Pen LeGrand, Rollerball LeGrand, Ballpoint Midsize, and in the smaller Fountain Pen Classique, Rollerball Classique and Ballpoint Classique.
Aside from the pen’s lovely design, it also has noble ideals in mind: each item from the Writing Is A Gift Collection until March 31, 2018 will go to a fund that will be donated towards providing more children access to better primary education.
This isn’t just some vague umbrella promise: the funds raised by the initiative will go toward many projects, such as teacher training programs, as well as supporting existing education programs by governments in countries from Brazil to China. —
