Prayers and job fairs on 119th Independence Day
NATIONWIDE
JOB FAIRS, entrepreneurship trainings, and bazaars for micro enterprise products will be held in different parts of country between June 12 to 23 in line with the observance of Independence Day. Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE), the venue and dates for these activities are posted on the DTI site, http://www.dti.gov.ph/media/latest-news/10640dti-dole-to-conduct-nationwide-jobs-and-business-fairs-on-june-12.
NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION
APART from the traditional flag-raising and wreath laying ceremonies at the Rizal National Monument in Manila, to be led by President Rodrigo R. Duterte, various activities have been lined up, including: • A Pasig River tour from Guadalupe Station in Makati City to Plaza Mexico, Intramuros and a walking tour in Rizal Park and Museo ni Rizal, Fort Santiago in Intramuros,
starting at 8:30 a.m. • Book sale of publications by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and agri-aqua fair at the Rizal Park • Concert at Paco Park in Manila, 7 p.m. • Multi-sect organized Inter-faith prayer and rally dubbed “National Day of Prayer and Action for Peace and Human Rights” at Andres Bonifacio Shrine beside the Manila City Hall, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Road closed
THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said the Bonifacio Monument Circle south section will be closed to traffic from 12 midnight to 7 a.m. Being a holiday, the number coding scheme will not be in effect.
WESTERN VISAYAS: ILOILO CITY
In Iloilo City, there will be fireworks, releasing of doves, and a Dinagyang Festival performance as part of the ceremonies at the Plaza Libertad.
