Make an impact that matters
If you do a search of #ImpactThat
Matters on social media, you will likely get a long line of posts from Deloit-tees around the world participating in a wide variety of activities: from introducing a new hand-operated rice planting tool to help farmers in Cambodia, to celebrating the LGBTQ community in the US; from leading a discussion on infrastructure tech trends in Africa, to helping rebuild typhoon-damaged schools in the Philippines.
Wherever we are, wherever we choose to do business, we also work to make a difference.
Deloitte’s network of member firms in more than 150 countries and territories are all committed to one unifying purpose: to make an impact that matters. And we understand that, with the diverse talents of our people and the distinct challenges facing the communities we work in, that impact can take on many different forms.
In the Philippines, Navarro Amper & Co. (Deloitte Philippines), the member firm of Deloitte Southeast Asia Ltd., has been living that purpose through its more than 600-strong team of professionals since 1997. Led by 18 partners who specialize in audit and assurance, tax and corporate services, risk advisory, and financial advisory, the firm is defined by its promise to serve clients with quality and distinction, and to mentor and develop future leaders.
It is also guided by the legacy of its late Chairman, Greg Navarro, who lived by the principle, “Do well, but also do good.” Every year, the firm’s official CSR arm – Deloitte Philippines Outreach, Inc. – takes on projects and initiatives that are focused on education and sustainability and are driven by employee volunteers. NEW LEADERSHIP This year, Deloitte Philippines ushered in a new set of leaders as it prepares to mark its 20th anniversary.
Eric Landicho, the firm’s Managing Partner & CEO, has over 21 years of experience in tax, legal, and other professional services. Before taking on his current role, Eric was the firm’s tax leader and also headed the Human Resources group for a time. He has led engagements for local and multinational clients in the consumer business & transportation, energy & resources, financial services, manufacturing, and technology, media & telecommunications (TMT) sectors, and has conducted tax seminars both here and overseas.
As the firm’s leader for tax and corporate services, Walter Abela Jr. brings with him more than 19 years of experience providing tax advisory and compliance, due diligence, tax rulings, and government regulatory consulting services for multinational companies in the consumer business & transportation, energy & resources, manufacturing, services, and TMT sectors. He also heads the tax group’s Japanese Services Group and the Mergers & Acquisitions Group.
Following his stint as head of Deloitte Indonesia’s transfer pricing practice, Carlo Navarro joined Deloitte Philippines as a principal and now takes on a broader role: he is Deloitte’s Southeast Asia (SEA) Transfer Pricing Leader and he also
heads the SEA Transfer Pricing Center, a shared services resource headquartered in Manila. Another new tax principal, Alvin Saldaña has been with Deloitte Philippines since 2004 and as a tax lawyer, specializes in immigration and global employer services. The firm’s Risk Advisory group also welcomed two new partners. Anna Marie Pabellon has 17 years of experience in technology risk management and the implementation of security technologies in the telecommunications and financial services industries.
Enrique ‘Jet’ Pampolina specializes in internal audit, enterprise-wide risk management, and operational and financial risk and regulatory compliance in the financial services, energy, TMT, and industrial products and services sectors.
Together with the rest of the firm’s partners and the Deloitte team, Deloitte Philippines’ new leaders are ready to continue building on Deloitte’s mission to make an #Impact That Matters.
