Mapúa pioneers tech subject for senior high school students
MAPÚA University Senior High School started implementing the Connecting Things course, a subject solely dedicated to teaching the Internet of Things (IoT) technology to its first batch of Grade 11 and Grade 12 students. A first in the country, Mapúa SHS’s Connecting Things course is integrated in the Cisco Networking Academy (NetAcad) and offers a basic understanding of how to network devices in a local area network (LAN) and connect them to the Internet. It also provides students an ability to solve basic algorithmic problems using a programming language, knowledge of basic physics concepts, and a familiarity with Cisco Packet Tracer. IoT is the inter-networking and communication of Internetenabled devices.
