CENTURY PROPERTIES Group, Inc. is hoping its state-of-theart outpatient medical facility in Makati City will reach 100% capacity by 2018.

Centuria Medical Makati, a 28-storey facility located in Century City, was officially unveiled on Saturday.

“[It] is our target [to reach 100% capacity next year],” Dr. Chelsea Elizabeth G. Samson, Head for Medical Services at Centuria Medical, told BusinessWorld at the sidelines of unveiling event.

Ms. Samson said the facility is currently at 50% capacity, with 380 doctors at the clinics and allied medical service centers at Centuria Medical. The facility started soft operations in April last year.

She said current foot traffic of 1,000 visitors per day is expected to increase to 1,700 to 2,000 by the end of the year when Centuria Medical is expected to operate at 60-70% capacity.

Ms. Samson described Centuria Medical as a “medical mall,” which provides patients with convenience, speed, a variety of options, and an “elevated form of patient experience.”

“In the Philippines, what we’re so used to is the traditional hospital setting, where patients go to the hospitals to go to see their doctors for consultation, but the trend all across the world is towards outpatient facilities,” she said.

Centuria Medical houses clinics and centers of different specializations, such as functional medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and dermatology. It also has Executive Guest Suites to accommodate patients who undergo minor surgeries and those who prefer to complete executive checkups without having to leave the facility.

Ms. Samson added that Centuria Medical offers high-technology solutions and innovations for specific concerns, such as intraoperative radiation therapy and molecular breast imaging at the Asian Breast Center, and hemorrhoid artery ligation at The Surgery Center.

“They brought in the latest technology and equipment, and that’s what will ensure that we provide the best service to our patients,” Rey Dimaano, senior vicepresident and general manager of Centuria Medical, said during the ceremony.

Despite the state- of- the- art facilities, Ms. Samson said the services are more affordable than those of other hospitals.

“Our price points are generally 40- 60% cheaper than hospital rates,” she said.

Century Properties, a listed developer, reported its attributable net income slowed by 11% to P445.81 million in the first half of 2017, on the back of a 14% decline in revenues to P3.35 billion.

The decline in CPG’s earnings comes as it pursues a diversification strategy that aims to expand its product offering to affordable and tourism projects, from the high-rise condominium projects it is currently known for.
