DLSU faculty and alumni recognized at Palanca Awards

ALUMNI from De La Salle University (DLSU) were among the honored writers in this year’s Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature. Philosophy Department associate professor Dr. Noelle Leslie de la Cruz was given the top prize for Poetry in English for her collection “Sisyphus on the Penrose Stairs: Meta-Reveries.” In addition, Dustin Edward Celestino (AB-Philosophy, 2004) nabbed First Prize awards for the categories Dulang Ganap ang Haba and Full Length Play. His winning works are “Ang Pangahas na si Pepe Rodriguez” and “The Story of This Father.” Joshua Lim So (AB-Philippine Studies, 2007), a Palanca veteran, took home Second Prize and Third Prize in the same categories for “Araw-araw, Gabi-gabi” and “Sa Syquia, Malate, Kabanata II: Letting The Days Go By.”
