Forty- four top Filipino designers showcased their collections of Filipino wedding gowns at a bridal show at the Plaza Belmonte last Feb. 9. The event was attended by the most sought-after events planner and coordinators in the country.

The event, which was the first bridal show to be held in the heritage resort, offered a glimpse of the past melded with contemporary Filipino talent, where Las Casas’s collection of restored heritage houses becomes a background for Filipino talent and creativity in fashion design. Moreover, guests and events planners and coordinators had an opportunity to meet and interact with the following fashion designers: Edgar Madamba, Blas Aligno, Steve De Leon, Richie Bondoc, Gener Gozum, Ivan Dela Cruz, Francis Calaquian, Marjorie Lee Gumabay, Nickky Martinez, Pencil Diestra, Rico Escario, Lou Vella, Armand Marco, Dave Ocampo, Edwin Uy, Edgar San Diego, Rich Sabinian, Ronaldo Arnaldo, Jontie Martinez, Lito Perez, Ranel Espaldon, Ole Morabe, Rholand Roxas, Jun Lee, Rian Fernandez, Edel Santiago, Julius Ornum, Sony Boy Mindo, Johnny Abad, Rem Divino, Rocky Gathercole, Karen Castro, Nholie, Pilapil, Rey Lazaro, Glen Lopez, Paolo Blanco, Rafael Louis Gonzalez, Richard Papa, Vince Sityar, Vivo Nazareth, Bernard Escalona, Joyce Pilarsky, Fanny Serrano and Renee Salud.

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar has become a favorite venue by couples for their pre-nuptial pictorials and weddings. Boasting of majestic architectural pieces from 18th century Philippines, the resort has an impressive collection of houses from the Spanish colonial era. The breathtaking seaside view and spectacular architecture are always picture-perfect for soon-to-wed couples.

With this event, the Conde Nast Johansens property has opened a world of possibilities for Filipino designers to create unique and very Filipino wedding gowns. Las Casas provides the ideal venue to revive not only Filipino heritage but also to rediscover the Filipino tradition.
