-

Fueled by its desire to deliver world- class seatravel experience, the country’s biggest shipping company 2GO, Inc. continuously seeks ways to improve its services and offerings.

The logistics company unveiled the brand new look of its very own M/ V St. Leo the Great that boasts a newly furbished accommodation, amenities and modern interiors.

“We’re changing the game once more by elevating Filipinos’ sea-travel experience. With history of great service and providing delightful trips, 2GO focuses on modernizing its fleet in the next years,” 2GO Shipping Chief Operating Officer Mark Matthew F. Parco said.

The newly improved passenger and cargo vessel gives its passengers a grand welcome through its staircase, heading to the ship’s front office that is designed in an old- world charm. The nautical- inspired wall décors complement these features, making the ship’s overall ambience classier.

The M/ V St. Leo the Great guarantees not just a safe and sound journey but also an exceptional cruise- like travel experience. Passengers can indulge to shops and stores located on board. They can find and buy their needs at the convenience store; spare some of their time in salon and spa; experience economy and first- class dining; and have some fun from entertainment stage and videoke. Passengers can also rely on food stalls and charging stations, strategically located around the vessel.

“We changed almost everything,” Mr. Parco told BusinessWorld on the sidelines of the ship’s blessing, attended by 2GO executives, employees, guests and media. “The rooms, the bed covers, the bed sheets, the pillowcases, the linings and curtains are all different. We changed the whole toilet system and the plumbing. It’s all brand new… We’re selling the experience. The food is also improved; we have better food selections. It has better sleeping quarters, better selection. We are looking for different things to improve.”

Guests can choose from a wide array of room accommodations based on their budget and needs including Cabin Class, Tourist Class, Mega Value, State and Suite rooms, which are all carefully crafted to attain a hotel- like ambience.

“I can say it is now: one, much more functional; and two, it’s a bit classier. It really gives a world- class experience to the customers,” Mr. Parco said, noting that the performance and transformation of the ship defines how fast 2GO grows and will grow in the years to come.

“I think this ship is a signal from the company, a signal of our commitment to safety. It’s a signal to our commitment to customer service and improving our facilities for our customers. I think with that signal, it also calls us the action. It’s a call of action to improve ourselves — whether it’s our systems or our works — we make sure that the ship travels safely and the engine is properly maintained,” Mr. Parco said.

The M/ V St. Leo the Great travels to a speed of 19 knots, servicing Manila to and from three major ports namely Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Butuan. It carries almost 1,200 passengers and has a cargo capacity of 174 TEUs (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit).
