Golf tournament raises close to P6M for literacy program

CORPORATE partners of McDonald’s Philippine­s and its charity of choice Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) were able to raise a record-breaking amount of close to P6 Million from the 22nd hosting of RMHC’s annual Golf Tournament. The funds raised will benefit over 300,000 Filipino public school students in 1,000 public monograde and multigrade schools across Eastern Visayas, Lanao del Norte, Cavite, Laguna, Zambales, Davao, Quezon, Rizal and NCR as part of the Ronald McDonald Read to Learn program, done in partnershi­p with the Department of Education. The schools that the program helps are provided with illustrate­d books in English and Filipino and student workbooks to evaluate proficienc­y, while the educators are given training.
