Success in snacks

-

With various food franchises saturating the market, it becomes tough to stand out as a brand. However, RNL Food Concepts was able to establish a national presence in a short span of time through its Snack-A-ttack food concept.

First opened in 2016, Snack-A-ttack started as a local on-the-go snack store in one of the busiest corners of Las Piñas City. Offering a choice of a snack and drink conveniently combined in one on-the-go cup, it instantly became a hit with hungry customers young and old alike.

“What was thought to be just another one of the small businesses quickly became a national sensation in less than a year. It continuously provides an exciting dining experience,” RNL Food Concepts told BusinessWorld.

The man behind the innovative and successful concept is RNL Food Concepts’ founder Noel Andres, who — as reflected in his career — seems to have a natural knack for business.

A graduate of business management from De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, Mr. Andres made his way through college by running a printing business to make up for his family’s financial misfortune during those times. This entrepreneurial awakening was born out of his hardships in his younger days. Soon after graduating, apart from running his printing business, he climbed his way up the corporate ladder from being a medical representative to a national sales manager of a pharmaceutical company. But it was also around this time that he decided he was destined to be an entrepreneur.

This was affirmed when in 2014, his other venture, a liquefied petroleum gas franchise from a major oil company, was recognized as the No. 1 distributor hub in the Philippines.

Expanding further his horizon, he then co-founded RNL Food Concepts with his wife Loren Bacani-Andres and cousin Ronreb Pulia with Snack-A-ttack as its first-ever brand.

“The milestones that got the Snack-A-ttack franchise where it is today is by innovating its business and having a vision. It continuously stands firm on its belief in providing an exciting dining experience for an exciting life,” RNL Food Concepts said.

“Snack-A-ttack believes that innovation does not only mean inventing. Innovation means changing the business model and adapting to the changes in the environment to deliver better products or services. Successful innovation should be built as part of the business strategy, where you create a culture of innovation and lead the way in an innovative and creative way of thinking.”

According to the company, Snack-A-ttack already reached its 100th branch mark in less than a year, and has also established a solid presence in Visayas and Mindanao.

“It launched different food products that really caught the attention of consumers, especially the kids and kids at heart.”

“Franchisor support is also a key element in the success of a brand. Without this, any franchise business may fail, and that’s where Snack-A-ttack has put emphasis on, in order to continue to grow and promote the brand that started it all.”

For those who want to venture into franchising, RNL Food Concepts said that aspiring entrepreneurs must not be afraid to take a risk because the returns are rewarding and fulfilling despite challenges.

“Filipinos have a natural fear of engaging in any business that may require capital, labor, and time. But it’s about time to change this thinking and start having an entrepreneurial mindset. Be it your own business or a franchise business, one must have the determination and capacity to run one, and of course it would start with the courage to give it a try,” the company advised.

In addition to this, RNL Food Concepts underscored that the franchising industry in the country is thriving, thus opportunities abound as well.

“Philippines is now known as the franchise hub of Asia, largely due to the astonishing rate of growth of franchising businesses in the country,” the company noted, adding that Filipinos’ willingness to try new and exciting products and concepts makes franchising a worthwhile opportunity to try.

“As of one of the brands in the franchising industry, Snack-A-ttack is really proud to be existing in a competitive market. It is really a good avenue to help an individual’s dream of having their own business come true, awaken their entrepreneurial mindsets, and take the step of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Snack-A-ttack’s mission is to help empower each individual by gaining the grounds not only through local franchise business but expand a franchise business internationally.”
