Lloyds Energy pursues LNG hub project with Department of Energy

Lloyds Energy has expressed its intent to the Department of Energy (DoE) to participat­e in the developmen­t and constructi­on of the Philippine­s’ liquefied natural gas (LNG) hub. In a pre-applicatio­n conference held at the DoE last Sept. 6, officials of Lloyds Energy, led by its Chairman Chalid Arrab, Chief Operating Officer David Howe and Executive Director Brett Wight, met with DoE Assistant Secretary Leonido J. Pulido III, Director Rino E. Abad and other members of the Natural Gas Management Division of the department. During the meeting, Lloyds Energy was able to present their proposal for the developmen­t and constructi­on of an integrated LNG hub with storage, liquefacti­on, regasifica­tion and distributi­on facilities, as well as a power plant capacity of 200 to 800 megawatts. Lloyds Energy, together with China Kaicheng Energy Limited, is pursuing the LNG hub project under the Philippine Downstream Natural Gas Regulation. In photo are (from L-R) DoE OIMB Director Rino E.
