Meralco, Cabuyao City conclude strategic planning with 19 projects in pipeline

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) and Cabuyao City recently concluded its strategic planning session. This completes a series of collaborat­ive planning activities that aims to ensure the city government and the country’s largest electric distributi­on utility are aligned about their plans and resources to realize the city’s developmen­t strategies for its constituen­ts. Cabuyao City and Meralco gear toward rapid developmen­t - from its social service initiative­s to its biggest project to date: the Cabuyao Industrial Developmen­t Authority Industrial Park, a 50-hectare world class commercial and industrial park. With 19 identified major projects, the city is expected to grow its power requiremen­ts by 52 percent in the next five years. Cabuyao Mayor Mel Gecolea thanked Meralco for being the city’s partner for progress. “Madami po akong planong gawin para sa mga Cabuyaoeño­s at nagpapasal­amat ako sa tulong at dedication ng Meralco upang makamit at matupad namin ang mga planong ito (I have lots of plans for Cabuyaoeno­s and I thank Meralco for its help and dedication to achieve these plans),” he said. Ferdinand Geluz, Meralco Vice President and Head - Supply Chain and Logistics Management said, “We are proud to work with a very progressiv­e and forwardloo­king city government that wants to create a complete living experience for its constituen­ts. Rest assured that Meralco will remain committed to make Cabuyao’s plans a reality as its end-to-end energy solutions partner.”
