Meralco, Cabuyao City conclude strategic planning with 19 projects in pipeline
The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) and Cabuyao City recently concluded its strategic planning session. This completes a series of collaborative planning activities that aims to ensure the city government and the country’s largest electric distribution utility are aligned about their plans and resources to realize the city’s development strategies for its constituents. Cabuyao City and Meralco gear toward rapid development - from its social service initiatives to its biggest project to date: the Cabuyao Industrial Development Authority Industrial Park, a 50-hectare world class commercial and industrial park. With 19 identified major projects, the city is expected to grow its power requirements by 52 percent in the next five years. Cabuyao Mayor Mel Gecolea thanked Meralco for being the city’s partner for progress. “Madami po akong planong gawin para sa mga Cabuyaoeños at nagpapasalamat ako sa tulong at dedication ng Meralco upang makamit at matupad namin ang mga planong ito (I have lots of plans for Cabuyaoenos and I thank Meralco for its help and dedication to achieve these plans),” he said. Ferdinand Geluz, Meralco Vice President and Head - Supply Chain and Logistics Management said, “We are proud to work with a very progressive and forwardlooking city government that wants to create a complete living experience for its constituents. Rest assured that Meralco will remain committed to make Cabuyao’s plans a reality as its end-to-end energy solutions partner.”
