Partnerships,
Apart from partnerships, the BSP also launched PisoLit, a breakthrough Facebook page targeting Filipino millennials with financial education messages.
This is distinct and independent from the official BSP Facebook page. It was launched on Sept. 1, 2017 to leverage on social media in widening outreach and spreading basic knowledge on financial literacy, such as saving, budgeting, managing debt, and protection from financial fraud.
The ultimate goal is to improve financial literacy in the country, using media and language that target audiences can relate with.
PisoLit uploads fun, engaging, and sometimes “hugot” posts about financial planning on a daily basis. Only one year old, PisoLit has gained 40,400 followers on Facebook.
The BSP will also convene the first ever Financial Education Stakeholders Expo on Nov. 27 to 28.
The Expo will bring together financial education stakeholders and advocates from public and private institutions, development partners and international organizations, civic society and academe.
It will provide venue for stakeholders to know who is doing what in financial education; share challenges and lessons learned; and explore opportunities for productive partnerships.
It aims to be recognized as an annual centerpiece event for financial education in the Philippines; and a platform for building an organized network imbued with the shared vision and collective responsibility for sustainable and effective financial education programs.
