ValuePlus Auto Service: A mighty mix of men and machines
When scouting for an auto shop that could satisfy their after-warranty needs, many car owners have two important considerations in mind: equipment and expertise. They want to know if their cars’ problems can be diagnosed properly with the use of modern and accurate machines. They are also quite particular with the mechanic who will work on their cars. Sometimes, they find one or the other, but rarely both in one shop. Happily, more and more car owners are discovering that these two concerns are ever present at ValuePlus Auto Service, the casa alternative. For the last five years since it opened in 2013, ValuePlus (VP) has been providing exemplary and skillful service while using modern machines and instruments. It is fully equipped with the latest tools and equipment at par with that of a casa, such as diagnostic scanner, wheel alignment, tire changer and balancer, chain-type 2-post lifters, and hydraulic-type lifters. Equally important, however, are the men who operate these machines and wield these tools to provide optimal service to ValuePlus customers. With decades of combined professional experience from major car manufacturers and car dealerships here and abroad, the company’s seasoned technicians, supervisors, and managers bring in worldclass multi-brand expertise. Noel, who is the Workshop Supervisor at ValuePlus Banawe branch and an airconditioning and electrical specialist as well, recalls his first impression of ValuePlus. He recounts, “I saw that the VP shop was different; it was clean and spacious. When I saw the technicians, I thought they looked like they were experts. When I was hired, I found out that yes, they are really very good.” Noel also observed that ValuePlus was not only clean but also organized. There was a system, especially with the tools, which were complete. If they needed more tools, ValuePlus was ready to provide. Noel echoes this mindset, saying: “Even if a technician is good but he lacks tools, he will not be able to maximize his expertise.” With five years in ValuePlus tucked under his belt, Noel has taken his rightful place as one of the experts that he used to look up to. These days, he is in charge of the Workshop, typically determining the car’s history, diagnosing the problem accurately, then recommending what repairs are appropriate, much like the process in a casa. He also needs to make sure all the equipment are working properly. And beyond these duties, he also looks after his men, making sure they are okay every day. “It’s like I am caring for a family,” he smiles. Noel’s right hand man at VP Banawe is JR, the Asst. Workshop Supervisor. When he first started with VP, JR noticed that same cleanliness and orderliness. He felt that if he worked here, he would not have a hard time. While his specialization in under chassis suspension, JR says that he is “particularly challenged with troubleshooting, especially for cars with problems that other service providers are not able to diagnose accurately or fix properly. These were brought here to us and we were able to find a way to make them work. And of course, when we can do that, it makes me happy. The technicians here are really good!” Buboy rose from the VP ranks, starting as a technician, then became a supervisor, and is now the Branch Head of ValuePlus Las Pinas. But while he is currently in operations, Buboy remains very proud to be on the technical side of the industry. “At first glance,” he observes, “mechanics look so ordinary. But they are really very different. When they are already working, they are in a different zone. They are focused. They are relentless in finding ways to repair the car. That is what makes it exciting.” For Buboy, a mechanic’s work is never boring. “What inspired me to be a mechanic was that every day, my work is not programmed. You deal with the unexpected,” he continues. “Yes, we are like car doctors. A “sick” car comes and we have to diagnose and fix it. And cars are not the same, even if they are the same brand or model. That is what inspires me to be better; all these challenges… Sometimes we go home at midnight in order to finish the work. But we are proud at the end when we are able to repair the car.” To a man, all of them dream of ValuePlus growing and establishing branches all over the Philippines. This dream may be a reality sooner than they think, as ValuePlus opens its doors to franchising through ValuePlus Xpress, or VPX. And fully armed with both equipment and expertise, ValuePlus Auto Service is clearly the logical casa alternative and VPX is the franchise to look out for. ValuePlus Auto Service has branches at E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue, near corner Banawe St., Quezon City, and Robinsons Place Las Piñas, along Alabang-Zapote Road in Talon I.
