VMware names director of channels for SEAK

VMWARE, INC., a leading innovator in enterprise software, announced the appointmen­t of Fan Qu as director, Channels and Alliances, of VMware Southeast Asia and Korea (SEAK), as a strategic pivot towards its channel priorities. No stranger to channel management, Mr. Qu brings more than a decade’s experience and will oversee VMware’s go-to-market approach and sales execution in the region. In this role, Mr. Qu will advance the Virtual Cloud Network vision in the partner community and accelerate the digital transforma­tion journeys of enterprise­s in the region.

“Channel partners are central to the success of our business,” said Sanjay K. Deshmukh, vicepresid­ent and managing director, Southeast Asia and Korea, VMware. “With Fan leading our channel strategy, we are well-positioned. I have utmost faith that he will grow our partner ecosystem from strength to strength in the coming years.”

Mr. Qu joined VMware in 2013 as a senior partner business manager, during which he was tasked with responsibi­lities including managing the VMware Cloud Services business. He also took on various channel management roles for the Southeast Asia and Korea markets. In his new position, Mr. Qu will continue managing distributo­rs, solution providers, OEMs, SISOs, VMware Cloud Providers and technology alliance partners.

Prior to joining VMware, Mr. Qu worked at IBM as Wintel server sales leader for General Business in Singapore.

“We see tremendous potential for our partners to monetize the cloud, and our priority is to strengthen their capabiliti­es so they are best equipped to seize opportunit­ies,” said Mr. Qu. “We want to continue investing in our partners and enabling them to deliver the best-in-class services to our customers in the region.”
