DA planning e-commerce site for farm produce
AGRICULTURE Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol said that the Department of Agriculture (DA) is preparing to launch an e-commerce Web site this year as a commission-free delivery platform for farmers selling their produce.
The Web site etiendako.com is now online, but not yet operational. It plans to carry lanzones, carrots, okra, durian, mangoes, lemoncito, lettuce, mangosteen, radish, rambutan and potatoes.
Mr. Piñol told reporters in a chance interview on Tuesday that the farmers seeking to join the system will be consolidated, though he provided no details.
He added the site could be launched this year.
