CHINA mobile phone brand Oppo recently launched its newest product in the F series, the Oppo F11 Pro, which transforms simple selfies into “brilliant portraits.”

“From this moment, Oppo F series is just no longer just a selfie expert. We will shift from selfie expert to brilliant portraits...not just to highlight the product features but also for people, young customers to tell their stories,” Jane Wan, vice president for marketing of Oppo Philippines, said during the launch held at World Trade Center in Pasay City on March 27.

With the company’s F series earlier dubbed as the selfie expert, the F11 Pro effectively upgrades this product line. The new phone features a 48 megapixel (MP) image sensor and F1.79 large aperture with 6P lens (six-lens plastic array) which will provide users betterquality night photography. This allows more light to be captured especially when shooting in low light conditions. The phone also utilizes Tetracell technology analyzes and combines data from four adjacent pixels for better picture quality.

The F11 Pro also features Ultra Night Mode and Dazzle Color Mode that utilize AI and multi-frame noise reduction for less noise, handheld stabilization, highlight suppression, and better dynamic range. It is also able to distinguish between a human face and the background for sharper focus on the subject of the photo.

Aside from its camera, the new model is the first to have a triple-color gradient design in Thunder Black, which blends red, blue, and black together. Another color variant is the natureinspired Aurora Green, which is a double-color gradient design inspired by the ocean and lush green continents.

The F11 Pro has a 6.5-inch full HD+ screen with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.9%. It also has a hidden front camera for a more seamless screen display. This camera, which can operate 100 times a day for six years, rises from the top middle part of the phone.

Aside from its better camera and bigger screen display, it is also equipped 4,000 mAh battery and the new VOOC 3.0 flash charging technology, which shortens charging time by 20 minutes to 80 minutes. The F11 series also has reduced power consumption through its optimized hardware and software technology. It has a low-power MTK P70 CPU and ram-equipped display.

The gaming experience on the F11 Pro is also enhanced through an acceleration engine called Hyper Boost, which enables faster game response, no disconnections, and no dropped frames. With this, the company has also introduced two gaming tools: Game Space and Game Assistant, which give gamers a better experience.

For the F11 Pro, it has a new ColorOS 6 system for full-screen smartphones. It also provides other features like the OPPO Cloud service, smart assistant, and gesture navigation.

“With every launch, Oppo ensures that we put the needs of our Filipino market. Every innovation is made to uplift the consumer experience and that is what we have made with the F11 series. Through the shift in focus from selfie expert to brilliant portraits, we provide our users the opportunity to shine in the dark, to tell their untold stories through stunning portraits, and ultimately inspire others,” Ms. Wan was quoted saying in a statement.

On what is next for Oppo Philippines, Ms. Wan said: “Looking ahead, we believe that opportunities and trends are always there so this year, we will invest more than 1.43 million in development and research... We will cover areas like 5G... We believe that we will be among the first to launch our 5G phones in the industry.”

She said the company will also invest on the internet of things (IoT). “We will focus on developing the intelligent mobile devices to have our own smart watches and smart earphones.”
