- Michelle Anne P. Soliman

A SATISFYING cup of coffee or a refreshing cold drink paired with a sandwich can keep one occupied before hopping on a plane as Tim Hortons opened its first airport branch in the Philippines at the NAIA Terminal 3.

“We are thrilled to open our first airport branch. People who travel and are often on-the-go should be able to get fresh coffee, sandwiches, and baked goods, and we at Tim Hortons make these available to them. We want to make their airport dining experience delightful and delectable,” Tim Hortons Coffee Services Philippines president and CEO Rickie Yap, Jr. said in a press release.

The 68-square meter branch is the brand’s 11th 24-hour store. Located at the 4F NAIA Departure Area beside the food hall entrance, the cozy 14-seat store has a design similar to an airline check in counter.

While the NAIA 3 branch is the brand’s 28th store in Metro Manila, Mickey Gonzaga, COO of Tim Hortons Philippines told members of the press at last week’s launch that they hope to continue growing their presence in the metropolis before opening branches in other regions.

“We were very surprised two years ago, because there were already followers of the brand mainly because they’re a leading Canadian brand. We already felt the warmth of Filipinos accepting the brand,” she said about the reception of the brand since it opened its first branch in Uptown Mall in 2017.

Tim Hortons at NAIA 3 offers its best-selling drinks and dishes including its Tuna Melt Sandwich and lemon-based soda water called Fizz Cooler.
