STAYING TRUE to its thrust of innovation, ATRAM Trust Corp. (ATRAM Trust) introduces another first in the industry, the ATRAM Global Financials Feeder Fund. The new fund will allow investors to take advantage of one of the largest sectors in global markets. Beaten down by the global financial crisis, the continuous improvement of banks across the world provides various value opportunities.

“With the new ATRAM Global Financials Feeder Fund, investors can participate in the growth of companies around the world that are involved in providing financial services,” said ATRAM Trust President Deanno J. Basas.

“After launching ATRAM Global Technology Feeder Fund, the first themed feeder unit investment trust fund (UITF) in the market last year, we continue to expand our innovative line of investment products with the ATRAM Global Financials Feeder Fund, thus providing better access to global investments for Filipino investors,” he added. The ATRAM Global Technology Feeder Fund raised over P1.3 billion by the end of 2018.

A feeder fund, monitored and regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), is a kind of UITF that invests at least 90% of its assets in another fund (single collective investment scheme). ATRAM Trust has partnered with BlackRock, a global investment manager with close to $6.00 trillion in assets under management, as of 2018. BlackRock manages BlackRock-BGF World Financials Fund, the target fund of ATRAM Global Financials Feeder Fund.

For a minimum initial investment of P1,000, ATRAM Trust provides a cost-effective means for Filipino investors who want to have access to offshore investments. “Since ATRAM Global Financials Feeder Fund is peso-denominated, you don’t need to convert to dollars, making it easier for you to invest in global assets,” Mr. Basas said. “As more investment outlets become available to the market, there is less reason for investors to not diversify their funds and build an investment portfolio,” he added.

ATRAM Trust is the first stand-alone trust corporation in the Philippines. It received its license to operate in October 2016 from the BSP. ATRAM Trust, with approximately P125 billion in assets under management as of February 2019, was the first to launch a complete range of feeder funds in the Philippines which provide Filipinos with global investment opportunities. It is the market leader in the Philippine feeder fund space, with about 70% market share as of 2018.
