Marawi City IDPs get livelihood intervention from DoST
THREE EQUIPMENT from the Department of Science and Technology-Industrial Technology Development Institute (DoST-ITDI) were handed over early this April to the Maranao People Development Center, Inc. (MARADECA, Inc.) for the livelihood and development of Marawi City’s internally displaced persons (IDPs). These were an essential oil extractor that extracts essential oils from citronella grass and other plant materials that are abundant in Marawi City, a charcoal briquetting equipment, and tea bag processing equipment. DoST-ITDI also trained the Maranaos to make personal and home care products. The participants were able to produce a dish washing liquid, hand wash, and other kinds of soap.
