RECKITT Benckiser Healthcare Philippines is sustaining the fi ght against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The company is donating over P15.8 million to various hospitals, cause- oriented organizations, and low-income communities, to further halt the spread of the novel coronavirus and alleviate its impact among the healthcare sector and vulnerable groups.

The donation will go towards providing emergency quarantine facilities, thousands of meals, mobile thermometer disinfection channels, and personal protective equipment.

Most of the donations have been earmarked from the global RB Fight for Access Fund which aims to make access to the highest quality hygiene, wellness, and nourishment a right and not a privilege. The goal of RB Healthcare Philippines’ latest endeavor is aligned with its Disinfect to Protect mission to ensure everybody is protected from illnesses by breaking the chain of COVID-19 infection.

“We are still in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic and as a trusted household brand, we have the responsibility to continue responding in an unprecedented way to this outbreak. Our latest donation reflects this ideal as we partner once more with like-minded organizations in empowering healthcare institutions in fighting this disease and strengthening vulnerable communities,” said Aleli Arcilla, RB Healthcare Philippines general manager.

P1.7 million will be coursed through the Bagong Henerasyon Foundation, Inc. for the construction of three emergency quarantine facilities, two in Barangay Sucat, Muntinlupa City and one in Taguig-Pateros District Hospital, to decongest these medical facilities of possible COVID-19 patients. The facilities will be built by WTA Architecture and Design Studio.

The company will also provide the Kabisig ng Kalahi Foundation with P7.97 million for the provision of weekly meals for 1,500 households — 30 of the poorest families in each of the 50 Metro

Manila barangays with the highest rate of COVID-19 infections.

P5.1 million of the donations will go to the Bagong Henerasyon Foundation, Inc. for the procurement of six mobile thermometer disinfection channels which will be used to sanitize Veterans Memorial Medical Center, Philippine Orthopedic Center, Quezon City General Hospital, Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital, PNP General Hospital and AFP General Hospital. Part of the donation will also be used to purchase consumables and shoulder maintenance costs.

RB Healthcare Philippines will also turn over P1.14 million worth of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Ospital ng Makati, Ospital ng Tondo and Philippine Heart Center to help its medical front-liners in fighting the pandemic.
