Mondelēz Internatio­nal unpacks future possibilit­ies with 10th-anniversar­y celebratio­ns

THIS YEAR, Mondelēz Internatio­nal is being intentiona­l in its commitment, leading change, and doing what’s right for its annual Purpose Day with the theme “Made for Movement.” The month-long celebratio­n was held during the anniversar­y of the global snacking company’s founding on October 1, mobilizing nearly 31,000 colleagues to activate a key element of the company’s purpose in unison around the world.

“Mondelēz Internatio­nal believes that snacks, when done the right way, can make a movement,” shares Mondelēz Philippine­s VP & Managing Director Aleli Arcilla, who participat­ed in the activities. “As we celebrate the company turning ten this year, we have decided to focus our annual Purpose Day activities on making bold choices, taking actions, and doing the right thing for our colleagues, community, and of course, our consumers who are at the heart of what we do,” she added.

Mondelēz Internatio­nal celebrated Purpose Day in the Philippine­s by having five growth-driven activation­s, with its mission to make the right investment­s in digital technology and diverse talent, while moving the needle on sustainabi­lity. The Purpose Day finale in October was a “PUSO” word-forming activity with Mondelēz Philippine­s team members, including VP & Managing Director Aleli Arcilla, that answers the question, “What moves you towards the future?”

The activity was the Internatio­nal Coastal Clean-Up Drive with Geocycle and Holcim, held at the Las PinasParan­aque Wetland Park as part of the Changemake­rs campaign, the company’s internal volunteeri­ng, charity, and fundraiser program. Seventyeig­ht coastal rangers and volunteers were present, who collected a total of 545.2 kilograms of plastic waste. Big on various sustainabi­lity initiative­s, Mondelēz Internatio­nal is a key leader in the Extended Producers Responsibi­lity Act of 2022, continuous­ly going the extra mile even prior through its Sustainabl­e Futures program that helped recover more than 243,000 kilograms of plastic waste this year alone.

They also did the Mindful Snacking Mystery Bake-Off, an internal contest challengin­g colleagues to create something delicious using only the ingredient­s in a special “mystery box,” incorporat­ing Mondelēz products and a mystery ingredient to make a cake, dessert, or favorite local treat.
