Cebu Pacific ends 2018 with 71 planes

BUDGET carrier Cebu Pacific is ending the year with a 71-strong fleet, after receiving the last of the seven additional Airbus A321 ceos this month, which are collective­ly priced at around $812 million based on list values.

With the latest jet addition, the carrier’s fleet is now composed of 36 Airbus A320s, seven Airbus A321 ceos, eight Airbus A330s, eight ATR 72-500s and 12 ATR 72-600s, a company statement read.

After this, Cebu Pacific is expecting the delivery of five more Airbus A320 ceos, 32 Airbus A321 ceos and four ATR 72-600s. Currently, it has one of the youngest fleets in the world with an average fleet age of 5.1 years.

“Deliveries of these aircraft will commence in the first half of 2019 and will be completed within the same year. The carrier is also expecting delivery of four ATR 72-600 aircraft from 2019 to 2022 for use in inter-island domestic routes where jet operations are not possible,” the statement read.

Cebu Air Inc., operating as Cebu Pacific, is the largest carrier in the Philippine air transporta­tion industry, offering its low-cost services to more destinatio­ns and routes with higher flight frequency within the Philippine­s than any other airline.

Cebu Pacific and subsidiary Cebgo fly to 37 domestic and 26 internatio­nal destinatio­ns, with over 107 routes spanning Asia, Australia, the Middle East and the United States. Lorenz S. Marasigan
