Shopwise opens at Batangas City Grand Terminal Dec. 21

-

THE Batangas City Grand Terminal, a multipurpose transport terminal and commercial center in Batangas City, will be the home of the newest Shopwise outlet of the Rustan Group which opens on Friday, December 21.

A prime hub for travelers going to, from and passing through Batangas City, the Grand Terminal is owned and developed by Batangas Ventures Properties & Management Corp. (BVPMC), which is a member of the ALC Group of Cos. founded by Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua.

The Batangas City outlet is the

first Shopwise branch in Batangas to be opened by Rustan Supercenters Inc. (RSI), owner and operator of the Shopwise chain, in its bid to expand further in Southern Luzon, particularly in the Calabarzon area covering the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon growth area.

The store is located on a property along Diversion Road, Alangilang, Batangas City, that Rustan Supercenters will lease from Batangas Ventures.

In August 2014, the city government of Batangas and Batangas Ventures entered into a public-private partnership (PPP) agreement under which Batangas Ventures assumed control, supervision and management of the implementation, development and construction of the transport terminal.

It currently houses terminals for various public-utility vehicles (PUVs) such as buses, jeepneys, and UV Express units, as well as paid parking space for private vehicles.

The Grand Terminal is also the home of the Batangas City branches of Isuzu Gencars, a vehicle dealership under the ALC Group, which occupies the space fronting the Diversion Road; and Planbank, a rural bank that is also a member of the ALC Group.

Already, two convenience stores—7-Eleven and Super BP Mart—are operating within the Grand Terminal, along with several food stalls, souvenir shops and eateries.

The new Shopwise outlet occupies 1.2 hectares of the total 6-hectare land area of the Batangas City Grand Terminal. Situated at the corner of Main Street and Commerce Drive, Shopwise has its designated parking space for its customers.

Following the opening of Shopwise, several other establishments like fast-food chains are also set to rise on the property.

The Grand Terminal has around 3,000 square meters of space still open for lease.
