Wilcon opens 50th store in Gen. Santos
HOME improvement and construction supply retailer Wilcon Depot Inc. celebrated another milestone as they opened their 50th depot store at General Santos City, South Cotabato, on December 14, the company said in a statement.
General Santos is a first class highly urbanized city in the province of South Cotabato. Thriving as the country’s 14th “Most Competitive Highly Urbanized City” this year and 15th most populated city, General Santos displays unrelenting opportunities for the growth in their agro-industrial, fishing and services sectors.
Looking into these potentials, Wilcon has undeniably come up with the perfect choice of bringing their newest retail store in General Santos City, according to the firm.
Located at Purok Palen, Barangay Libangal, the first Wilcon Depot store in General Santos has a total sales area of over 12,000 square meters accommodating thousands of strong and reliable local and international brands in the market, arranged in an organized and clutter-free manner inside an airconditioned store. By maintaining its uniformity in the interior of its depot store, Wilcon makes its operations efficient to help the customers shop with ease.
“We can’t wait to provide the local homeowners and builders in General Santos City the high-quality home improvement and construction needs and customer-focused shopping experience that Wilcon Depot offers,” Wilcon Senior Executive Vice President Chief Operating Officer Rosemarie B. Ong was quoted in the statement as saying.
“Wilcon will unceasingly make efforts to maintain its foothold in the retail construction industry and continue to fulfill the company’s commitment of helping [and] providing sustainable homes,” Wilcon President and Chief Executive Officer Lorraine Belo-Cincochan said. “The expansion of Wilcon Depot in the Mindanao region signifies the legacy of bringing excellence and improvement to the quality of life at home and wherever you are in the country. The opening of our 50th milestone store is a testament of our dedication to Filipino homebuilders.”
Wilcon Depot first entered Mindanao region in 2009 and established its first store at Matina, Davao, followed by a series of store openings at Butuan City, Agusan del Norte and Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental in 2017, and Wilcon Zamboanga, which was opened early August this year. Wilcon said it is set to open one more store in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, before this year ends as part of its ongoing expansion in fulfilling its commitment to have a total of 67 operating stores by 2020, which is earlier than planned, barring any unexpected external factors.
