HONESTBEE, Asia’s leading online concierge and delivery service, recently rolled out a regional insurance mandate that will allow its thousands of shopper and delivery bees to be enrolled in a group personal-injury policy, giving them coverage while fulfilling orders or out doing deliveries.

The policy covers a range of situations while on the job, such as medical expenses, hospitalization, temporary incapacity, permanent disablement and even death. The policy is effective immediately and is implemented across the eight countries and 16 cities the tech company operates in.

In the Philippines, honestbee partners with merchants that include small and medium-sized businesses, supermarket chains and restaurants. The tech company has been in the country for more than a year and currently serves the greater Manila area as well as Cebu.

“We believe in the importance of providing safety and security to our dedicated shopper and delivery bees,” said Crystal Gonzalez, managing director, honestbee Philippines. “We currently have hundreds out on the field who continue to work hard in giving convenience and high-quality service to our customers.”

Honestbee works with over 10,900 stores and restaurants across Asia, providing flexible income opportunities to over 20,000 partner bees.
