THE renowned kitchen- and bathroom-fixture brand pledges sales proceeds of new product to benefit local communities

Manila joins other Asian cities, including Mumbai, Bangkok and Jakarta for a benefit sale organized by American Standard, one of the world’s most well-known bathroomand kitchen-fixture brands. Dubbed “Shower for Good,” the event was held in Eastwood City in Quezon City and is part of the bigger LixilUnicef’s “Make a Splash” program. Lixil is the parent company of American Standard.

The Shower for Good benefit sale also coincided with the launch of American Standard’s Genie, an especially designed hand shower that features 120 micro spray-holes that ensure robust water flow even under low pressure. It also boasts an award-winning translucent design, which makes slime and mineral deposits easier to spot, prompting users to clean their hand showers more frequently. This product retails for P595 in local hardware and homefurnishings stores.

During the benefit sale, sales proceeds of 1,000 American Standard Genie hand showers were donated to the Make a Splash program, which will go to benefit disadvantaged children in the Philippines who have no access to clean water and basic sanitation. By 2021, the program will have contributed to global efforts to improve basic sanitation for 250 million people around the world.

Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Lixil is one of world’s leading experts in water and housing products. The company leverages its expertise as it teams up with Unicef to work in over 100 countries worldwide to improve access to clean water, basic toilets and good hygiene practices.
