DPWH starts construction of new PNP IAS building
PUBLIC Works Secretary Mark A. Villar led on Friday, November 15, 2019, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an Internal Affairs Service (IAS) building of the Philippine National Police (PNP) inside Camp Crame compound in Quezon City.
Villar, in a news statement issued on Friday, said that the building will be constructed to provide a decent workplace for IAS personnel who are in-charge of investigating erring police officers which since its creation in 1998 has not occupied a permanent office.
With a total funding of P120 million under the 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the project involves the construction of a four-story building with the provision of a reception area and parking space in the ground floor.
“Upon completion, this building will end the constant cycle of transferring from one office to another and give the IAS staff occupying uniformed and non-uniformed positions more time to focus on handling all the administrative cases involving rouge members of the Philippine police force,” said Villar.
The construction of the office building is target for completion by the last quarter of 2020.
