- BY RODERICK L. ABAD Contributor

THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) and Bizooku Philippines officially launched a mobile application that gives users access to information on the various technical-vocational education and training (TVET) programs offered by the agency.

E-learning video clips from the Tesda Online Program (TOP) can be viewed in the self-branded app, as well as the latest news about the agency’s initiatives, list of training programs, frequently asked questions, addresses of the registered training centers, and regional and provincial office directory.

Buttons directly linking to steps on how to apply for different Tesda scholarships, and other features like the Tesda Women’s Center are also available. The mobile app is downloadable in both Google Play and Apple App Stores.

“We’re honored to work with Tesda on this project,” said Alejandro Chiongbian, president of Bizooku Philippines Inc. “They have a wide range of learning programs and we use our platform to organize the content in the mobile app, so it will be easier for Filipinos to discover available courses they might be interested in.”

Bizooku Philippines Inc. is affiliated with Bizooku based in the United States. It aids clients in building contextual and adaptive mobile platforms.

These features are present in the app as it allows real-time updates, dynamic design, and content changes based on location and schedule.

Tesda Secretary Isidro Lapeña lauded the company for helping them bridge information needs and extend its services to more people in a more advanced and modern platform on the Web.

“As more and more people rely on their mobile phones for communication and information, the more this Tesda app becomes very timely and relevant. We also want to connect closer to our younger clients, the youth, who are usually online. They will be happy with this mobile app,” he explained.

The partnership between Tesda and Bizooku reflects their shared vision to make learning more accessible for the Filipino community, empowering them and paving the way for various employment opportunities.

The former is now one of the few government agencies that has mobile app up and running.
