Packaging experts hold free mentorship seminars for MSMEs at Propak 2020

PROPAK Philippine­s partners with local and internatio­nal packaging organizati­ons for “Meet the Global Packaging Experts sessions, set in connection with ProPak Philippine­s Expo slated on on Feb. 5-7, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Aiming to help Micro, Small & Medium Entreprene­urs (MSMEs) improve their productsby­updatingth­emonnewpro­cessing and packaging trends and technologi­es, ProPak gathers industry leaders from the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP), World Packaging Organizati­on (WPO), the

Packaging Institute of the Philippine­s (PIP), and Sealed Air who will share knowledge on packaging design, cost, safety, processing, sustainabi­lity, among others.

The mentorship is set to equip MSMEs with the essential technical and creative know-how to help scale up and market their products. Limited slots per day will be opened to interested participan­ts for the sessions set on Feb 5 to 7 at the Innovation Stage inside the exhibition hall.

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority’s 2018 List of Establishm­ents, MSMEs account for 99.52 percent of the business enterprise­s operating in the country with 998,342 establishm­ents.

“The key to MSMEs going global is exposure to innovation­s, technologi­es, trends, and knowledge from around the world, especially machines that meet internatio­nal processing & packaging standards. Educating themselves on these regulation­s and networking with exhibitors and participan­ts who have been through the course will be able to guide MSMEs to step up to the next level,” said Mark Prakasvudh­isarn, organizer of ProPak Philippine­s.

Aside from showcasing the latest technologi­es in manufactur­ing, packaging, and processing from more than 400 local and internatio­nal exhibitors, the three-day expo will also host various workshops led by government agencies and manufactur­ing and business associatio­ns.

ProPak Philippine­s is supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
