IACADEMY starts the new academic year with ‘GOAL’
MAKATI-BASED school IACADEMY ushered in the new academic year with its “GOAL” Information Session, a virtual discussion on Guided Online Autonomous Learning—the school’s gamechanging and optimized approach to online classes.
IACADEMY hosted the GOAL Information Session on July 31 which provided students and parents with a better grasp on the way classes, activities and assessments have been adjusted to prioritize the essential concepts and competencies needed by the students and facilitate holistic learning experiences in the virtual learning setup.
“GOAL...IS anchored on the principle of outcome-based education… [It incorporates flexible and adaptive learning arrangements, with a] focus on the student’s welfare and context,” shared Cecilia Sy, vice president for academic affairs.
At the onset of the pandemic, IACADEMY hosted “The New Normal” webinar series to brief parents and students regarding the school’s transition to GOAL. In recognition that the sudden migration of instructional activities to remote learning may be unsettling for many, the school focused its efforts not only on ensuring sustainable learning activities are in place, but also on providing several information drives and open discussions within the community to address emerging concerns regarding educational continuity and secure support for both students and parents.
IACADEMY designed the GOAL program not only to adapt to the current challenges of online learning during the pandemic, but also to elevate student experience through collaborative projects with various industry partners, social activities within student organizations, and other engaging programs.
Aside from the curricular activities of the school, IACADEMY looks forward to stronger international linkages and partnerships to broaden learning horizons and grant more certifications for students this year.
IACADEMY is currently accepting applications for senior high school and college. Founded in 2002, the educational institution has pioneered specialized programs that are technology-focused, innovative and industryrelevant. To see its full list of programs, visit
