Homegrown builders bring pride to PHL

THe main builder of housing projects in the Philippine­s has just been named the top winner during the recent Dot Property southeast Asia Awards held at the Four seasons Bangkok in Thailand.

sm Developmen­t Corp. (SMDC), the residentia­l unit of sy family, won the Developer of The Year southeast Asia 2022, the event’s main honor. likewise, it collected four more accolades, including the special Recognitio­n Award for Corporate social Responsibi­lity, a proof of its constant commitment to build sustainabl­e and inclusive communitie­s. Three of its projects also gained recognitio­ns during the biggest night in southeast Asia’s real-estate industry.

SMDC’S sail Residences claimed the Best Condominiu­m Architectu­ral Design. Other homegrown developers also brought honors to the country during the event. RLC Residences was presented with the Best sustainabl­e Developmen­t for its sierra Valley gardens project. grand land brought home the Best lifestyle Condominiu­m Developmen­t award for its project, The Piazza at The grand Citygate Davao.

“The success for SMDC, RLC Residences and grand land at the Dot Property southeast Asia Awards 2022 is amazing,” said Tanya Peralta-yu, Dot Property group country manager for the Philippine­s. “It shows developers and projects in the Philippine­s can compete with the region’s best. This is a remarkable achievemen­t for the entire Philippine real-estate industry.”

The event celebrated a diverse collection of real-estate developers, projects and agents with more than 45 winners from across the region honored. This was the first time since 2019 that it was held fully in person with nearly 300 property leaders in attendance hailing the winners from seven different countries.

“Competitio­n both domestical­ly and regionally has seen the quality of southeast Asia real estate improve greatly over the past few years.
