“We have talked with the engineer and they told us to give them around five months, and we may able to finish the first three storeys,” said Delos Santos.

This would mean that by April at the earliest, the new CCMC building can start accommodating patients.

Kenneth Siasar, CCMC administrator, for his part, said that they were hoping the Department of Health could issue an accreditation so that they could start operations by April next year.

“But our old building will remain operational even if we are to start our services in the new building,” said Siasar.

The first floor of the new CCMC building will be used as a parking space, laundry area, and to house the maintenance headquarters and the septage-treatment plant.

A ramp for vehicles connecting the ground floor to the second floor was already constructed.

The second floor of the new CCMC building will house the basic departments such as the emergency, pediatrics, OB-GYN, internal medicine, surgery, and isolation rooms.

“Third floor is the out-patient department and the dialysis department,” said Delos Santos.

The new CCMC building will have 10 floors, with its 5th and 10th floors intended to house private rooms and wards.

Each floor has an area of 3,500 square meters.
