The Chil­dren’s Par­adise Montes­sori Choir led by Mae­stro Den­nis Su­garol will ser­e­nade the crowd with clas­sic Christ­mas songs while Mem­bers of Bal­let Cen­ter Cebu will de­light au­di­ences with a per­for­mance in­spired by clas­sic Dis­ney sto­ries.

This year, Ayala Land, Inc. has part­nered with The Walt Dis­ney Com­pany Philip­pines for “Reimag­ine the Magic: A Fes­ti­val of Lights”, an au­dio-vis­ual dis­play fea­tur­ing Dis­ney-themed il­lu­mi­na­tions twin­kling and danc­ing to Dis­ney and Christ­mas songs ev­ery 30 min­utes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. un­til Jan­uary 20, 2019.

Award-win­ning lights and sounds di­rec­tor Voltaire de Je­sus once again crafted the dis­play’s light­ing ef­fects while com­poser and for­mer mu­si­cal di­rec­tor of Hong Kong Dis­ney­land, Rony For­tich ar­ranged the or­ches­tral med­leys of loved Dis­ney tunes.

The magic of Dis­ney, which spans gen­er­a­tions, is reimag­ined in the light show along­side clas­sic Dis­ney songs such as “When You Wish Upon a Star,” “Beauty and the Pasa... from p12

Their fi­nal menu pre­sen­ta­tion fea­tured “Turmeric En­hanced Chicken Con­some, Smoked Eg­g­plant Tortellini, Chicken Oys­ter, Beef Mar­row, Poul­try Glazed Sponge,” “Breaded Poul­try Quenelles, Kare-Kare Sauce, Steamed Pump­kin Flower with Pump­kin Mashed and Alug­bati Leaf” and “Poached Chicken in Co­conut Oil en­hanced with Spices, Emul­si­fied Liver Sauce, Sweet Potato Mash and Leaf, Con­fit Veg­eta­bles and Pa­paya Blos­som.”

“The team com­bined both culi­nary skills and a play­ful mix of lo­cal fla­vors and i ngre­di­ents—to achieve bal­ance be­tween com­po­si­tion and tech­nique,” shared the ho­tel’s Ex­ec­u­tive Chef Jean Louis Leon, who also flew to Manila to sup­port the team. “Each dish had a mod­ern and lo­cal touch.”

Af­ter the pre­sen­ta­tion and sam­pling,the­judges­de­clared­thetea­mas Beast,” and “Let it Go” to en­chant kids and the young at heart. The Fes­ti­val of Lights has been an an­nual tra­di­tion at Ayala Cen­ter Cebu since 2014.

Spend the most won­der­ful time of the year at the re­gion’s premier cham­pion and pre­sented them with the “Ul­ti­mate Chef War­riors” tro­phy.

“Team ef­fort is the name of the game, and I’m just so proud of how they pulled off such great work, es­pe­cially since all of them are first timers in the fi­nals,” added Jean Louis.

“This is re­ally a huge honor as the judges are au­thor­i­ties in the Philip­pine food and bev­er­age in­dus­try, from sea­soned pro­fes­sion­als to celebrity chefs.”

“We came here with­out any expectations. It’s al­ready an honor and priv­i­lege to rep­re­sent our brand and the Visayas re­gion. We con­sider this a learn­ing ex­pe­ri­ence, im­per­a­tive to our team’s growth and ex­po­sure. Win­ning the na­tional ti­tle is cherry on top. We’re be­yond grate­ful and happy to bring home the ba­con.”
