SSG to launch Girls Com­mu­nity League to­day


FOOT­BALL and fut­sal de­vel­op­ment will now shift to the sport’s fe­male en­thu­si­asts as the Sama Sama Games (SSG) 2018 launches the Girls Com­mu­nity League this af­ter­noon at the Don Bosco Youth Cen­ter in Pasil, Cebu City.

The SSG is a sports and ed­u­ca­tional fes­ti­val spear­headed by FundLife In­ter­na­tional since 2014 and ad­vo­cates for greater in­clu­siv­ity and op­por- tu­nity for all, es­pe­cially girls, through play.

This year, FundLife is bring­ing the SSG to Cebu and will gather about 600 as­pir­ing young boot­ers with some com­ing from Davao, Manila and Ta­cloban.

Part­ner­ing with Fundlife in this 3-day event which was launched yes­ter­day at the Marco Polo Ho­tel is Gen­er­a­tion Amaz­ing, a foot­ball-fo- cused cor­po­rate so­cial de­vel­op­ment pro­gramme of the Supreme Com­mit­tee for De­liv­ery & Le­gacy, Qatar’s de­liv­ery and le­gacy au­thor­ity for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

FundLife’s lo­cal part­ner here in Cebu is the Giuseppe Foot­ball Club (GFC) and Dy­namic Herb Sports, Inc.

Join­ing FundLife founder Marko Ka­sic dur­ing the launch­ing and press con­fer- ence yes­ter­day were Rosa D’Alessan­dro of Gen­er­a­tion Amaz­ing, Rachel Genco, one of the GFC own­ers, and Ugur Tasci of Herbs, which is about to also launch its sta­dium with an ar­ti­fi­cial pitch next year.

Spe­cial guests were Cebu City Coun­cilor Jerry Guardo, Ap­ple Bar­iñan and Jing­goy Roa who rep­re­sented the Cebu Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion.
