Five years after winning The X Factor

Philippines, the “Soul Supreme” singer continues to grow as an artist.

It’s been big year for KZ Tandingan, a 25-year-old singer known for her creative covers, soaring original songs, and experimental style. She launched her second album entitled Soul

Supremacy, held a digital concert with One Music PH, and was tapped to sing the theme song of the hit teleserye La Luna Sangre. On August 6, she’ll be hitting the stage with boyfriend TJ Monterde for a concert in Davao. A big believer of continuous growth, KZ shows no signs of slowing down. “When I do TV shows, for instance, my team and I don’t usually get to choose the songs or arrangement, so I make sure that I have a gig once a month where we can do anything we want. That way, I still get to fuel my creative side and challenge myself. I always think: I’m earning money, but am I growing as a person and as a performer? You can always fall back on your usual if your experimenting doesn’t work. But what if it works, right?”

“When you learn to accept that some things are not meant for you, you’ll realize what you do have and appreciate them all the more.”
