Locsin warns of tit for tat

We go down this road of letting Chinese nationals be hurt, our people in China will pay

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. warned about possible threats to Filipinos working in China if the Philippine government fails to give justice to the killing of a Chinese national in Las Piñas last Friday.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, Locsin affirmed the Chinese Embassy’s statement urging the Philippine government to resolve the investigation and bring the perpetrator to justice.

“ONE HUNDRED PERCENT AGREE WITH CHINA ON THIS ONE. We go down this road of letting Chinese nationals be hurt, our people in China will pay. Send carping yellows to China when the anti-Filipino riots start to take the sacrificial place of our people working at good jobs there,” Locsin said.

On Sunday, Malacañang through presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said they are concerned with reports of foreigners being subjected to coercion, illegal detention and other violations of law during their stay in the Philippines urging to put a stop to these violent acts.

The Palace’s commitment to “protect the safety of Chinese citizens in the Philippines” was welcomed by the Chinese Embassy in the country.

“It makes no difference who killer(s) are, killing happened here. Our obligation to bring them to justice pronto,” Locsin pointed out.

He ran tirades against critics saying: “Unless opposition wants to thank Chinese triads. Triads as generous as drug cartels — a hint to administration critics. Deep pockets to line deep convictions.”

Last Friday, Chinese national Yang Kang was found dead after falling from a building in Las Piñas City.

The police report stated that the foreign national was last found alive Thursday, around 4 in the afternoon, when he had confrontation with his supervisor and was eventually handcuffed by his employer.
