Woman busted for robbery-extortion

A woman was arrested for alleged robbery-extortion in Barangay San Miguel, Pasig City Monday night.

The suspect, Sarah Mae Bartolota, 23, was arrested by operatives of the Pasig City Police Station in an entrapment operation around 6:25 p.m. at Samaya Bldg., East Raya Gardens, Mercedez Avenue, Barangay San Miguel.

Prior to the arrest, complainant Janevei Balitao, 35, reported to the police that the suspect demanded P1,000 in exchange for her laptop and will erase all video recordings in it.

The complainant sent a message to the suspect, who stayed at her unit, regarding the missing laptop in which the latter admitted to taking it and threatened that she will send her video recording to her husband.

She sought assistance with Pasig City Police Station where an entrapment operation was conducted that resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

The suspect is now temporarily detained at Pasig City lock-up facility while charges against her are being prepared.
