Clean-up drive nets 100 vehicles

-

The Quezon City Task Force for Transport and Traffic Management has impounded more than 100 vehicles and issued 400 citation tickets since it started clearing operations end of July.

While a number of vehicles have returned to park on cleared roads, Task Force chief Atty. Ariel Inton stressed his office will not tire of apprehending offenders again.

Inton said he is also holding barangay officials responsible for ensuring that local roads are free from obstructions and illegally parked vehicles.

The move is in response to a memorandum circular issued by Interior Secretary Eduardo Año instructing local chiefs to reclaim public roads.

This was in reaction to an order given by President Duterte during his recent State of the Nation Address.

The Task Force rounded up 15 motorcycles in its recent operation at Barangay Magsaysay, Barangay Sto. Cristo, Bago Bantay. The vehicles are now at an impounding station in Marikina City.

Inton also met with tricycle drivers at the terminal beside SM North to ensure that they will not disrupt the flow of traffic in the area.
