Bataan drowning victim found

BAGAC, Bataan — Residents and emergency response teams of the province found on Monday the body of one of the two teenage boys who drowned on Sunday afternoon in Barangay Pag-asa of this town.

The retrieved body was identified as Kent “Pipoy” Bawar, a 15-year-old student, while rescuers are still trying to find 18-year-old Marlon Angollan who is still missing as of press time.

Reynaldo Agisa said that he and a companion was at the shoreline in Barangay Pag-asa here when they saw a floating object among the big waves. Thinking it was a log, they waited for the waves to push it ashore and discovered Bawar’s body.

The drowning incident involved five teenage boys who went swimming at a beach in Barangay Pag-asa on Sunday afternoon but were pulled by strong undercurre­nt. Three of them were rescued, but both Bawar and Angollan were missing.
