Defeat anarchy

-

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) referred to the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) and its many front organizations as termites since these groups have the pretension of defending the masses when in reality, they pursue the goal of radical transformation through a revolution.

Their pursuits, from whatever sector they represent, are thus always appended with slogans on imperialism and other revolutionary chants.

“There is a clear and present danger posed by the CPP-NPA and the front organizations that support them. They are termites and viruses which continue to use the law to fight the government. Using democracy to destroy democracy,” Maj. Gen. Benigno Durana Jr., PNP director for Police Community Relations, said.

A good example of the propaganda twists that the communist fronts engage in is that of Bayan Muna and its representative Carlos Isagani Zarate who continue to work against and sabotage the development and growth of the Philippines.

They claim that their actions are meant to promote consumer welfare but what actually happens is that they counter productivity.

Bayan Muna, for instance, has opposed the initiatives of power companies to help solve the electricity supply problem.

With the economy booming, the demand for energy has been on the upswing, thus the need for more power plants.

Bayan Muna and its allies, however, are throwing roadblocks on new projects.

Local energy distributors had blamed the unreasonable obstruction of Left-wing groups for the recent spate of outages that hit Metro Manila due to the thin reserves of electricity.

The leftist groups are also blocking affiliate power generators of utility firm Meralco from bidding for power supply agreements (PSA) that the power firm said is an opposition that is discriminatory, anti-progress and anti-development.

The fronts, however, are expected to always raise their fists in protest against any moves of the government and big corporations, which would improve the general condition of the population since better lives for the majority would go against their effort to foment hatred and distrust of the government.

The Supreme Court had ruled in favor of the competitive selection process in the awarding of PSA, which should not exclude any particular group as Bayan Muna would have wanted.

The country direly needs more capacity and the only solution is the construction of new power plants, a fact that had escaped the narrow logic the fronts are capable of.

Without the immediate entry of generating companies, the danger of a serious power shortage similar to that in the late 1980s that badly crippled our economy looms.

The obstructionism of the leftist groups in the power sector is, more than anything else, meant to deny the economy of the means to keep growing steadily.

Frustrating the development thrust of the Duterte administration, of course, is intended to deny the achievement of a comfortable life for Filipinos that is the overriding goal of Rody.

The anarchic designs of the CPP-NPA organization have already been exposed in the recent Senate hearing on students who were practically abducted by radical elements in the campuses for later recruitment to the communist movement.

From the feigned peace negotiations to the supposed championing of rights, all are being done by the CPP-NPA and its fronts to strengthen the movement which has as its ultimate aim the toppling of the duly-constituted government.

“Local energy distributors had blamed the unreasonable obstruction of Left-wing groups for the recent spate of outages that hit Metro Manila due to the thin reserves of electricity.

“Obstructionism of the leftist groups in the power sector is, more than anything else, meant to deny the economy of the means to keep growing steadily.
