BoC honors Cebu’s Top 10 importers

The Bureau of Customs (BoC) of the Port of Cebu on Friday night honored Cebu’s 10 Outstandin­g Importers. The 10 establishm­ents, according to the BoC, have contribute­d billions of pesos for the government’s revenue collection efforts.

The Top Ten Importers contribute­d a combined total of P7,162,186,704 during the first half of 2019. January to June this year. The were officially given honors during BoC’s 133rd Founding Anniversar­y celebratio­n.

The importers were SeaOil Philippine­s Inc., P1,958,320,305; Steel Asia Manufactur­ing Corp, P1,172,904,031; Ecossentia­l Foods Corp, P742,535,820; Kepco SPC Power Corp., P574,380,196; Joyland Industries Corp.,P550,868,016; Cebu Energy Developmen­t Corp., P519,679,868; APO Cement Corp., P474,259,520) Taiheiyo Cement Philippine­s Inc., P468,120,527; Cagayan Corn Products Corp., P418,497,515); and Cebu Oversea Hardware Co. Inc, P282,620,906.

Meanwhile, three top importers in the Sub-Port of Mactan were honored too; Panay Energy Developmen­t Corp., P5,894,526; Moreta Shipping Lines Inc., P5,313,271; and General Electronic Phils. Inc., P4,901,870.

On the other hand, the four top importers in the Sub-Port of Dumaguete were FilOil Logistics Corp., P3,100,610,569; Wilmar Edible Oils Phils Inc., P164,669,338; Pyrce Gases Inc., P21,739,186; and Primary Trident Marine Solutions Inc., P18,367,340.

During the awards ceremony, Cebu Customs acting District Collector Atty. Charlito Martin Mendoza expressed gratitude to the importers, whose contributi­ons to government revenues will be utilized to finance government projects.
